Here at Likewise we aim to be a neighborhood meeting space for businesses, friends, and family. People can come and see all the awesome things about East Knoxville that they may have missed before previously visiting the area. All proceeds go towards our ministry, Raising a Voice, which fights against human trafficking on a local and global platform.
Our name comes from the story of the Good Samaritan. When asked how does one love their neighbor, Jesus replies by telling the parable of the Good Samaritan and then finishes by saying, “Go and do likewise.” We want this space to be a place for people to love their neighbors and learn how to be a good neighbor within the Knoxville community.
After the foundation of Raising a Voice, our founders, Will and Katie Boggs, decided to reach out to the East Knoxville community even more and created Likewise Coffee. Likewise serves as a sustainable stream of revenue to support the ministry of Raising a Voice while also creating a gathering space for the area. The community can expect an open space for getting together with friends, having meetings, and doing it all with a good cup of coffee. We hope to be able to host community events, support our neighbors, and get people excited about all the great things in East Knoxville.
The idea of Likewise finally became a reality when we brought our current location. When we purchased our Magnolia home, we wanted to take advantage of the large space and the opportunity to impact our community outside of the drop-in center. We also had a desire to lay the groundwork for the future growth of the ministry and bring that community space to our neighborhood. We hope that Likewise can become a place where people can come and see all the awesome things about East Knoxville that they may have missed before by not visiting the area.
